MOQ and pricing

Minimum order quantity, explained.

Every product has one, it changes with the packing format, and one message gets you the exact figure for what you are planning.

Why a minimum order quantity exists

A production run has a fixed cost before a single piece is made. Ingredients are prepared in batches, equipment is set up and brought to temperature, the kitchen is cleared down afterwards, and a slot in the schedule is used whether the run is fifty pieces or five hundred. Below a certain quantity that fixed cost stops being spread across enough pieces to make sense for either of us.

The minimum order quantity is simply where that line sits. It is not a filter to keep small buyers out. Offices ordering for one celebration clear it regularly, and we would rather tell you honestly that you are below it than quote you a per-piece price that makes the whole thing look absurd.

Per product

Each product has its own minimum.

Per format

The same product has a different minimum in a different packing format.

In writing

Your figure is confirmed on the quote, not implied.

What sets the minimum for your order

Four factors. Knowing them lets you work out roughly where you sit before you even ask.

Which product

Each product is made differently and batches at a different size, so the minimum is not the same across the range. See the products

Our packaging or yours

Standard orders are individually packed in our own packaging. A private label run cannot begin until your packaging physically exists and carries setup a standard order does not, so its minimum sits higher. Delivery and packaging

Whether it carries your brand

Private label runs carry setup that a standard order does not, so the minimum is higher. If you are testing an idea, a standard run under our name is the cheaper way to find out whether it works. Private label and OEM

One-off or repeating

A standing order lets us plan across runs, which changes what is workable. If you are trialling before committing to a listing, say so rather than presenting a single order as a one-off.

If your order is below the minimum

It happens often and it is not the end of the conversation. Four routes, in the order we would suggest them.

Change the product

The most common fix. Kunafa Pistachio Chocolate Bar is a 250 g gift bar. The Dubai Chewy is smaller and built for feeding a room. If you are ordering per head, the chewy is usually both the right product and the lower minimum.

Order both products on one run

Two products on one delivery sometimes reaches a workable total where one alone does not, and it gives your table two textures instead of one.

Move the quantity up slightly

Because the fixed cost is spread further, ordering somewhat more occasionally costs little more in total. Ask where the next step sits rather than guessing at it.

Or we tell you it is not worth it

If none of those work for your situation, we will say so plainly instead of quoting a number designed to make you go away. You are better served knowing quickly.

How the minimum relates to price

They are connected but they are not the same thing. The minimum order quantity is the point below which a run does not make sense to produce. The unit price then continues to fall above that point as volume rises, in steps rather than smoothly, because production works in batches.

This is why ordering slightly above your first instinct sometimes costs less in total than ordering at the minimum. Ask us where the next step sits for your product and format, and decide from there rather than from a guess. How wholesale pricing is built

Getting your figure in one message

We quote the minimum per product and format rather than publishing one number, because a single published figure would be wrong for most of what we make and would send half of you away for no reason. Send these three things and you get yours straight back.

Which product, or what it is for

If you are not sure which product suits you, describe the event instead and we will tell you which one fits and what its minimum is.

Roughly how many

Headcount is enough. We will work the piece count backwards from it and tell you whether it clears.

How it will be served

A gift for one person, or something to feed a room. This decides which product suits you, and the product decides the minimum. Frequently asked questions

Ask for your minimum

Three lines is enough: what it is for, roughly how many, and how it will be served. You get the minimum, the unit price and a lead time in writing.
