Why a bulk order process has no checkout button
Everything we make is produced against a confirmed order. There is no stock in a store room, which means there is nothing to add to a cart and nothing to send out the same afternoon. What you are actually buying is a production slot and a written specification, and neither can be priced until both are agreed.
That is slower at the start and considerably more reliable at the end. A bulk order process built around a quote rather than a checkout means the number you receive already accounts for your quantity, your packing format and your date, instead of a list price that moves once somebody reads the details. You will never be told a figure and then told a different one.

The five steps of our bulk order process
The same five steps apply whether you are a hotel placing a standing order or an office ordering once for a celebration.
Enquiry
Tell us the product, the quantity, the date and how it needs to be packed. If some of that is still open, send what you do know and we will tell you what is missing. We will not guess on your behalf, because a guessed detail is how a quote ends up wrong in a way nobody notices until delivery.
Quote
You get it in writing: unit price, the minimum order for that product, the packing format and the lead time we can commit to for your date. If we cannot meet your date or your specification, this is where you hear it, while you still have time to go elsewhere without losing anything.
Confirmation
You accept and we lock the production slot. Until this point nothing is reserved. That distinction matters most in festive season, when slots run out well before the dates do. A quote is a price, not a booking.
Production
We produce against your order, in batches sized to it. Nothing is pulled from an earlier run and nothing is carried over from one. How the kitchen works
Delivery
Delivered in the agreed format, inside the agreed window. For events we schedule against your service time rather than just the date, because arriving after the room opens is the same as not arriving at all. Delivery and packaging
What can still change after you confirm
Plans move. Some changes to a bulk order process are easy, some are expensive, and one is best treated as impossible. Worth knowing which is which before you sign anything.
Quantity, usually yes
Increases depend on what capacity is left in your slot. Decreases depend on how close production is. Ask as early as you can and the answer is normally workable in both directions.
Date, sometimes
Moving your date means moving your slot, and whether one exists depends entirely on the week. Ordinary weeks have room. Festive weeks have none.
Packing format, treat as no
Changing format after confirmation is a new quote rather than an adjustment, because it changes the work on our side and therefore the cost on yours.
Cancellation, depends on stage
Before production begins is one conversation. After it starts is another, because ingredients and the slot are already committed. The terms are stated on your quote rather than buried somewhere.
What slows an order down
Four things account for most delays, and three of them sit on the buyer side rather than ours. The most common by a distance is an unsettled packing format. An order cannot be quoted properly, let alone produced, until we know which product it is and whether it goes into our packaging or yours.
The others are late confirmation, packaging that has not been ordered yet on private label runs, and festive season demand. None are difficult to avoid, and all four are difficult to fix once the date is close. Trade buyers and public bulk orders
The bulk order process is the same for both. Three things differ, and none of them are the price.
Paperwork
Trade buyers usually need documentation, purchase order references and payment terms settled before a first order. A private buyer usually needs none of that, and an enquiry can be a single message with four details in it. Hotel supply
Repeat orders
A hotel or caterer reordering an approved specification skips most of the first two steps, because the specification already exists and nothing has to be re-agreed. A one-off order starts fresh each time, which is normal and not a disadvantage.
Minimums
Both are bulk. The minimum varies by product and packing format rather than by who you are, so an office ordering for eighty people is quoted on the same basis as a caterer ordering for eight hundred. MOQ and pricing
Who you speak to
Both go to the same place. There is no trade desk and no consumer line, so the answer you get about capability or timing comes from the kitchen either way. Bulk orders
If something goes wrong
Tell us immediately, and tell the kitchen rather than a mailbox. We produced your order, so the people answering can make a decision on the spot instead of opening a case and calling you back. What we will not do is argue about whether a problem is real while your event is still running.
We would also rather hear about it afterwards even when nothing can be fixed. A supplier who never hears about a near miss carries on producing the same near miss for the next buyer, and eventually for you again.
