Policies

Privacy policy.

What we collect when you contact us or use this site, why we hold it, who else can see it, and how to ask us to delete it.

The short version

We collect what you send us in an enquiry so that we can answer it, and this site uses Google Analytics to understand how pages are being used. We do not sell your data, we do not run advertising on this site, and we do not send marketing to people who only asked for a quote.

This policy is written to reflect the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 of Malaysia. If you want your details removed, ask us and we will do it.

Who we are

SixDessert, a food production kitchen in Kajang, Selangor.

What this covers

This website and the enquiries you send through it.

No selling

Your details are never sold or rented to anyone.

What we collect

What you send in an enquiry

Your name, email address, phone number if you give one, your company or organisation if you give one, and the details of what you are asking for: product, quantity, date, delivery location and anything else you write in the message.

What the website records

Standard analytics data through Google Analytics: pages viewed, roughly where in the world the visit came from, what device and browser were used, and how visitors move between pages. This is used to understand which pages are useful, not to identify you.

What we do not collect

We do not take payment through this website, so no card or bank details pass through it. There are no accounts to create, comments are closed, and we do not run advertising trackers on this site.

Job applications

If you apply for work, we hold what you send us about your experience and availability so we can consider it now and when something opens later. Ask us to delete it at any point and we will. Careers

Why we hold it and for how long

Four reasons, and nothing beyond them.

To answer your enquiry

This is the main reason. We cannot quote an order without knowing what you want, when you want it and where it is going.

To fulfil an order

If you become a customer, we keep the order details, delivery arrangements and correspondence needed to produce and deliver it, and to handle any problem afterwards.

To keep proper records

Where an order has been placed, we keep the associated records for as long as Malaysian tax and business record-keeping requirements demand.

How long otherwise

Enquiries that never become orders are kept while they might still be useful to you and to us, and deleted after that. Ask us to remove yours sooner and we will.

Who else can see it

Your enquiry is read by the people at SixDessert who need to answer it. It is not shared with other buyers, and if you are a caterer or event company, we do not contact your clients.

Some service providers necessarily handle data on our behalf: our web hosting provider, our email provider, and Google, which supplies the analytics on this site. They process it to provide those services and not for their own purposes. Some of these providers operate servers outside Malaysia, which means your data may be processed abroad. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

Cookies and analytics

This site uses Google Analytics 4. It sets cookies in your browser to recognise repeat visits and to measure how pages are used.

What the cookies do

They record which pages were visited, how long the visit lasted and how visitors arrived at the site. We use this to see which pages are answering questions and which are not.

Turning them off

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and Google provides a browser add-on that opts you out of Analytics entirely. Blocking them will not stop you using this site or sending an enquiry.

Necessary cookies

WordPress and our security tools may set cookies needed for the site to function, for example to keep a form submission working. These cannot be turned off without breaking the site.

Your rights and how to use them

Under the Personal Data Protection Act 2010, you can ask us for these things and we will act on them.

See what we hold

Ask and we will tell you what personal data we hold about you and what we are using it for.

Correct it

If something we hold is wrong or out of date, tell us and we will correct it.

Have it deleted

Ask us to delete your details and we will, except where we are required to keep records relating to an order that was actually placed.

Stop hearing from us

If you ever start receiving something from us you did not ask for, tell us and it stops. We would rather you told us than quietly marked it as spam. Contact us

Questions about your data

Write to us through the contact form and say it is about privacy. If we ever change this policy in a way that matters, the version in effect when you contacted us is the one that applies to that enquiry.
